Instagram Prompts Series: Prompt # 2 - Pisay
I feared you
you who housed the best of the best
you who struck a nerve whenever mentioned.
In the minds of people come
a ripple of amazement
or intimidation
or both.
You who to me were unknown
you who to me were like uncharted seas
yet seemingly fate has called me back
even though fate I tried to change.
But then, they happened.
They -- that childhood best friend, that fellow bookworm,
that Twitter moot, that silly skilled artist.
Those new names I have to learn
new faces I have to accustom myself.
Both the familiar friendships,
and the unexpected ones.
Those genuine younger peers
and the earnest gleam in their eyes
whenever a conversation was attempted,
as I felt a warmth sweep over my unwonted heart
-- once afraid, twice unsure,
now yellow.
The people I've heard stories about
Are now the people I write my own story with:
to one the pen
to one the ink
to one the paper
writing letter, after letter, after letter.
Each day a new chapter writing in itself
or so, was already written by the Author
that I merely witness unfold
So to you -- you whose lips
have spoken my name; and I, yours
To you, who I have yet to learn and study
yet to say the first hello
yet to share the first joke
yet to cry the first tear-broke sorrow
you are the characters He chose for this story
to play and dance with me in this unhinged whirlwind called
Pisay.
